Smartphone Case

Posted by Craftip (Feb 24, 2014)

I made a smartphone case for my wife. Surprisingly, it didn't cost much since I used only a buckle and eyelets.
The backside of the case has a hole with an eyelet, and you can pass a string through the hole and hang the case from your neck.
You may not notice from the pictures, but I'm not satisfied with the edge finish. Sure enough, finishing the edge properly is difficult.

The inside is finished with suede leather. I made a pocket on the front for some cards.
I bought this leather at a DIY shop, but I was able to make it look nice and beautiful using M. Mowbray's Neutral Cream and High Shine Polish.

This picture shows the stage before stitching. In fact, I realized I had already glued it together without sewing the underside of the pocket, and I had to tear it off while crying.
As you can see a little bit, you can hook this case to your bag with the short belt.

This picture shows one earlier stage: punching finished. At first I was planning to make the side round.

This picture shows the open case. You can see the rough surface of the leather without suede.
