The coin case is finished in simple design with Hermann Oak Leather in 1.5mm thickness. You can enjoy the changes in the color over time with this leather.

1.

Prepare the patterns.

2.

Cut the leather in each part. Attach swine leather to the bottom face of the main body. It should be attached firmly by using a tool such as leather rollers.

3.

Cut lines into the leather for filling in thread. It should be done for protecting against raveling and broken thread.

4.

Trim the edges which may not be removable in later steps.

5.

Moisten side parts of the leather and engrave lines. And then create solid creases firmly.

6.

Decide where to punch holes. I did not pierce the leather but just put the marks. It should look better with small holes if possible.

7.

Polish the parts which may not be done in later step. Use leather treating agents such as TOKONOLE for polishing.

8.

Apply edge finish such as EDGE KOTE on the polished parts.

9.

Polish the edges with KOBA WAX (edge wax stick) once the edges are dry.

10.

Attach card case on back of the main body.

11.

Attach a piece of leather on the part where snap fasteners are put on, for strengthening. Rough the mating surface.

12.

Finish look of the inside.

13.

Finish look of the outer side.

14.

Rough the mating surface.

15.

Now you will start stitching. First, rub on wax in thread. I used a mixture of beeswax and rosin for rubbing on Vinymo (Polyester filament thread) #1. The thread will be very sticky but it will tighten the stich and dig into the leather firmly.

16.

Use an awl to pierce holes where you marked with a hole punch.

17.

Begin stitching.

18.

Finish the edges with a skiver, a file and TOKONOLE etc.

19.

The inside looks like this.

20.

Cards can be inserted on the back side.

21.

The front side. It is finished.
