This Coin Wallet Kit is made of the traditional Japanese material known as "Tatami-beri" and natural leather.

1.

Prepare a piece of leather (about 8 cm x 7 cm) and a 30 cm length of 8 cm wide tatami mat edge with snap fasteners.

Here we use the LeatherCraftTools.com kit "Tatami-beri & Leather Coin Case Kit".

2.

Finish the flesh side and edge of the leather parts.

3.

4.

Move the tatami mat edge about 1.8 cm away from the center and fold them in half as shown in the picture.
Press down firmly on the folded part to keep it in place.

5.

Bend the excess part as shown in the picture and press down firmly to keep it in place.

6.

Stack the leather parts and the tatami mat edge together with about a 2 cm overlap, and fix them temporarily with Double Sided Adhesive Tape.
(Overlap the cut edges of the tatami edges with the leather parts to completely cover them.)

7.

Sew the leather and tatami edges together.

Here, it has been machine sewed with VINYMO <MBT> Polyester Machine Thread (#8 color:171).

8.

Reinforce the bent part of the tatami edge with another stitching.
(You could skip this step.)

9.

Make a round hole (approx. 4.5 mm in diameter) in the desired position on the leather part for attaching the snap fastener with Round Hole Punch.

10.

Bend the tatami mat edge and leather parts, and mark the position of the snap fastener on the tatami mat edge.
